How to Get Help

Services are provided to:

  • children age 0-2 with a developmental delay or disability; children age 0-2 who are at risk for a developmental delay; and 
  • children and adults of all ages who have mental retardation or other developmental disabilities and who qualify under standards established by the Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. 
Services are provided without regard to age, race, color, sex, religion or national origin to Erie County residents who are eligible.

What is the process for applying for services?

The ECBMRDD has a centralized application process for services. The Service and Support Administration Department is responsible for the intake and eligibility of all applicants over the age of three and the Early Intervention Department is responsible for the intake and eligibility of applicants age zero to three.

To apply for services for an individual age three and older :

  1. Contact Sharon Travis 419-626-0208 or email stravis@eriemrdd.org
  2. Complete and return Application and Intake documents.
  3. Provide verification of Developmental Delay(s) or Developmental Disability(ies).
  4. Work with the service and support department to complete the eligibility assessment.
To apply for services for a child age under the age of three:
  1. Contact Carrie DeMoss 419-626-0208 or email cdemoss@eriemrdd.org
  2. Complete and return Application and Intake documents.
  3. Provide verification of Developmental Delay(s) or Developmental Disability(ies).
  4. Work with the early intervention specialist to complete needed assessments.
